Study space

It is never too early to pick out supplies for your study space.  Below is a list of items that will help you create the perfect place to study, learn, and grow!

A cozy pillow set up with four pillows: one for your head, one to hug, one to sit on/place books on, and another smaller pillow for your feet.

The idea of a footrest is not only comfortable, but it shows respect for the other person in the study space. Studies have shown that people who use footrests while studying are more relaxed and show fewer signs of stress during their studies.

Get creative with your setup! You can easily make a small table from random items around the house.

A comfortable desk chair with lumbar support is a must! Your back will thank you for this one

A desk lamp to provide the light that’s not too harsh on your eyes

Your Study Space Should Include

  • Your favorite pillow, or pillows (if you have more than one student in the room!)
  • A small table for your belongings and snacks
  • A desk lamp with a dimmer switch (to adjust brightness levels as needed throughout the day)
  • Your own set of study materials, such as surrounding yourself with pictures that inspire you to learn more or textbooks that motivate you. It’s not recommended to have all hard material in your study space, as it can be distracting
  • A wastebasket for the paper to keep your study space clean and organized.
  • Finally, an optional footrest (as mentioned above) is a great way to show respect for others in the room and create good habits early on!
Study space

Your study space should be an area that you are excited to be in! Taking the time to create your study space will make studying more effective, so get creative and enjoy having a wonderful place to call your very own!

Create a study space with good books, good lighting, and comfortable furniture. Make sure everything is in its place so your mind knows what you expect.

Make sure the area in which you study is free of distractions. Turn off instant messengers, radios, cell phones, TV, and any other source of distraction during studying hours.

Try to minimize eating when studying by quickly consuming a snack or drink without getting up. It also helps to keep healthy food and water nearby so you can minimize trips across the room during studying hours.

Study near the things that inspire you most: pictures, posters, etc. Try to surround yourself with things that motivate and inspire you for maximum results.

Make sure your study environment is as free of stress as possible. This includes the people who are in your study area. Surrounding yourself with positive and encouraging people will put you at ease and allow you to concentrate on your studies.

This is important to make sure you don’t miss anything and to help you study for your exams.

Also, avoid distractions. If you can’t concentrate on studying because of things like the Internet or other people being too loud, it’s time to go somewhere else. It’s also a good idea if you have roommates that won’t let you study, to ask them nicely if they can let you be.

One of the biggest reasons to work at home is that there are no distractions. Unless your house is messy, it should be much easier for you to focus on studying than if you were to try and do so in a library or somewhere else with people walking around or talking. You can just shut your door and study away.

The library is a great place to go if the distractions of home are too much for you, however, it’s important to note that there will likely be other people also studying in the same room as you. This means that unless you have earbuds or noise-canceling headphones.

It will be very difficult for you to relax and focus on studying.

Studying at home can also boost your concentration because there are no distractions in this place. A distraction could be your phone, which is another reason not to bring it into the room where you study. It’s best just to keep it inside another room so that you’re not tempted to look at it.

If you study in your bedroom, you may be tempted to just go to bed early rather than studying. As a result, you might find that you can’t focus or that you keep feeling tired and want to sleep. This will make it very difficult for you to get down to work and make you feel like you’ve wasted your time.

Of course, if you study somewhere else, this won’t be an issue.

Now that there are so many distractions around us, it’s important to make the effort to control them and concentrate on what we need to do. Concentration is not something that can be easily achieved by all of us; some people seem to be able to study for hours without any issues, while others will struggle with it.

However, everybody can improve their concentration skills and get more out of their time spent studying or working.

  1. I have read your article carefully and I agree with you very much. This has provided a great help for my thesis writing, and I will seriously improve it. However, I don’t know much about a certain place. Can you help me?
